A catheter (110) for the cryotreatment of tissue includes a catheter body (110b) and a treatment (110c) tip positioned at the distal end of the catheter body. The treatment tip has a cooling segment operable at a temperature sufficient to freeze tissue and an electrically-driven ablation assembly operable to apply heating ablation energy to the tissue. The cooling segment has a thermally conductive wall for contacting and thermally treating tissue in contact with the thermally conductive wall. The cooling segment and the electrically-driven heating ablation are controlable to effect tissue ablation.

L'invention concerne un cathéter (110) destiné au crypotraitement d'un tissu. Ce cathéter comprenant un corps (110b) de cathéter et une pointe de traitement (110c) placée à l'extrémité distale du corps du cathéter. La pointe de traitement présente un segment de refroidissement fonctionnant à une température suffisante de façon à congeler le tissu ainsi qu'un assemblage d'ablation électrique par chauffage destiné à appliquer de l'énergie d'ablation par chauffage au tissu. Le segment de refroidissement présente une paroi conductrice thermique servant à mettre en contact et à traiter de manière thermique le tissu en contact avec la paroi conductrice thermique. Le segment de refroidissement et l'ablation électrique par chauffage peuvent être commandés afin d'effectuer l'ablation de tissu.
