ABSTRACT: By roughening the glass surface of the envelope of a cathode ray tube below the conductive layer, a good adhesion of the conductive layer to the glass surface is obtained. A good contact is obtained by smoothing the glass surface below the layer at the area of the point of contact of a contact spring with the conductive layer, which contact spring constitutes the connection between an electrode and the conductive layer, and flash-overs (sparks) will not occur. - ? -
