11 ABSTRACT: A cathode ray tube with means to generate a number of electron beams which are converged on a display screen and means to deflect the beams over the display screen. Each electron beam is focused on the display screen by a focusing lens and all the electron beams emanating from the focusing lenses are converged at least partially by a helical lens which is common to all the electron beams. The helical lens has a length 1 ? 2D, 1 being the length of the helix and D being the diameter of the helix.
