An improved aqueous cathodic electrocoating composition having a binder of an epoxy-amine adduct and a crosslinking agent; wherein the improvement is the use of a crosslinking agent having at least one, preferably a plurality of morpholine dione groups per molecule. Electrodeposited finishes are formed that have reduced volatile emissions and film weight loss when heated to cure.
L'invention concerne une composition de revêtement électrolytique cathodique aqueuse améliorée présentant un liant d'un adduit époxy-amine et un agent de réticulation ; l'amélioration résidant dans l'utilisation d'un agent de réticulation présentant au moins un groupe, et de préférence une pluralité de groupes de morpholine dione par molécule. Des finitions électrodéposées sont formées, lesquelles finitions présentant des émissions volatiles réduites et une perte de poids de film lorsqu'elles sont chauffées pour durcir.
