CATHODIC PROTECTION METHOD AND COMPOSITIONS ABSTRACT A method for the cathodic protection of a metal object is disclosed. The object is coated with a resin- containing curable silicone composition which contains a minor portion of a triorganosiloxy endblocked diorganopoly- siloxane. After the silicone composition is cured, the object is maintained at a negative potential relative to an electrically conductive environment by a current source means. The compositions of the present invention have been found to exhibit significant improvement with respect to cathodic disbondment relative to similar silicone compositions of the prior art.
