A cation exchange membrane which shows suppressed deterioration of the strength of the membrane in the upper portion of an electrolytic cell when the membrane is employed in the electrolytic cell and used for a long term, which can perform electrolysis with good production efficiency, and which can be produced simply with low cost; its production process and, such an electrolytic cell; are provided. A cation exchange membrane to be used for an electrolytic cell, which has a laminate structure comprising a first layer containing a fluoropolymer having sulfonic groups and a second layer containing a fluoropolymer having carboxylic groups and adjacent to the first layer, and which has a rectangular shape with a constant thickness; wherein the cation exchange membrane has an attachment region along one (or each) of opposed sides of the cation exchange membrane and a main region other than the attachment region; the value of the ratio (the thickness of the second layer) /(the total thickness of the first and second layers) in the attachment region is larger than the value of the ratio in the main region. Further, its production process and an electrolytic cell to which the cation exchange membrane is attached.
L'invention concerne une membrane échangeuse de cations, son procédé de fabrication et une cellule électrolytique. La membrane selon l'invention présente une dégradation limitée de la résistance de la membrane dans la partie supérieure d'une cellule électrolytique pendant une utilisation à long terme dans la cellule électrolytique, permet de réaliser une électrolyse avec une bonne efficacité de production, et peut être produite par un procédé simple et économique. La membrane échangeuse de cations décrite est destinée à une utilisation dans une cellule électrolytique, a une forme rectangulaire d'une épaisseur fixe, et présente une configuration stratifiée, qui comprend une première couche d'un polymère contenant du fluor et un groupe sulfonate, et une seconde couche adjacente à la première couche, d'un polymère contenant du fluor et un groupe carboxyle. La membrane échangeuse de cations susmentionnée comprend une zone de montage le long d'un côté (ou le long de deux côtés opposés) et une zone principale en dehors de ladite zone de montage, la valeur de la fraction (épaisseur de la seconde couche susmentionnée)/(somme de l'épaisseur de la première couche susmentionnée et de l'épaisseur de la seconde couche susmentionnée) étant supérieure dans la zone de montage susmentionnée que dans la zone principale susmentionnée.
