CATIONIC COPOLYMERIZATION OF META- OR PARA-ISOPROPENYL-.alpha., .alpha.-DIMETHYLBENZYLISOCYANATE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of making an organic solvent-soluble, substantially linear copolymer of meta- or para-isopro- penyl-.alpha.,.alpha.-dimethylbenzylisocyanate and at least one other ethylenically unsaturated non-methacrylate or nonacrylate comonomer selected from the group consisting of styrene, .alpha.-methylstyrene, p-methyl-.alpha.-methylstyrene, and p-methyl- styrene, comprising polymerizing the meta- or para-iso- propenyl-.alpha.,.alpha.-dimethylbenzylisocyanate and said at least one other ethylenically unsaturated comonomer in non- aqueous solution and in the presence of a cationic poly- merization catalyst.
