The present invention provides a cationically electrodepositable coating composition comprising: a neutralized product obtained by neutralizing a resin (A) having hydroxyl groups and cationizable groups with an acid; an epoxy group-containing curing agent (B) having at least two groups on average per molecule of an epoxy group-containing functional group comprising an epoxy group selected from the group consisting of an epoxy group bonded directly to a ring carbon atom of an alicyclic ring or a bridged alicyclic ring and an epoxy group formed by two adjacent carbon atoms constituting the alicyclic ring or the bridged alicyclic ring and an oxygen atom; and a neutralized product obtained by neutralizing an imidazole compound (C) having a molecular weight per imidazole ring falling in a range of 68 to 300 with an acid, said components (A), (B) and (C) being stably dispersed in an aqueous medium. The above composition is excellent in a curability and a storage stability and can form an electrodeposited coating film having an excellent adhesive strength in the initial stage and after a moisture resistance test even on the smooth surface of a metal base material.
La présente invention porte sur une composition de revêtement par électrodéposition cationique, renfermant : un produit neutralisé, obtenu par neutralisation, à l'aide d'un acide, d'une résine (A) portant des groupes hydroxyle et des groupes cationisables; un agent de réticulation (B) époxydé, renfermant en moyenne et par molécule au moins deux groupes fonctionnels époxydés, comprenant un groupe époxy choisi parmi un groupe époxy lié directement à un atome de carbone d'un noyau alicyclique ou d'un noyau alicyclique ponté, et un groupe époxy formé par deux atomes de carbone adjacents constituant le noyau alicyclique ou le noyau alicyclique ponté, et un atome d'oxygène; et un produit neutralisé obtenu par neutralisation, à l'aide d'un acide, d'un composé de type imidazole (C), avec une masse molaire par cycle d'imidazole se situant dans une plage de 68 à 300; les constituants (A), (B) et (C) sont dispersés de façon stable dans un milieu aqueux. La composition ci-dessus est excellente du point de vue réticulation et stabilité au stockage et peut former par électrodéposition une pellicule de revêtement possédant un excellent pouvoir adhérent dès le départ, et ce même sur une surface régulière d'un matériau métallique de base après un essai de résistance à l'humidité.
