Abstract of the Disclosure A cationically electrodepositable finely divided gelled polymer obtained by dispersing an acrylic copolymer containing a hydrolyzable alkoxysilane group and a cationic group in water and crosslinking the dis- persed copolymer particles thereinside. A cationically electrodepositable coating composition containing the aforesaid polymer can form a thick coated film having excellent smoothness on an edge portion of a corner or a projected portion to improve the anticorrosion of the edge portion.
