The present invention relates to a cDNA probe for human methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR), and its uses. The probe of the present invention may be used for the identification of sequence abnormalities in patients with severe or mild MTHFR deficiency, including cardiovascular patients and patients with neurologic symptoms. A human MTHFR protein which hybridizes to the probe of the present invention may be used for therapy of MTHFR-deficiency patients by biochemical or pharmacological approaches.
La présente invention concerne une sonde d'ADN complémentaire codant pour la méthylènetétrahydrofolate réductase (MTHFR) humaine et ses utilisations. La sonde de la présente invention peut être utilisée pour mettre en évidence des anomalies de séquences chez des patients atteints de déficience légère ou grave en MTHFR, en particulier les patients souffrant de troubles cardiovasculaires et les patients atteints de troubles neurologiques. On peut utiliser la protéine MTHFR humaine codée par la sonde de la présente invention pour le traitement de patients déficients en MTHFR, par des approches biochimiques ou pharmacologiques.
