An adjacent ceiling mounted fan for convecting warmer air in the vicinity of a ceiling downwardly therefrom. The fan comprises a one-piece molded housing having an integrally molded front wall and a circumferential side wall circumscribing an opened rear end. An air passage opening is provided in the front wall. An air channeling grid is secured over the air passage opening. At least one electric fan is provided with a support frame which is secured to the front wall by fasteners extending through the grill to thereby retain the grill captive therebetween. The grill is formed by transversely connected vanes to form a grill having a plurality of square openings delineated by the vanes for channeling air transversely of the front wall. The molded housing has integrally molded reinforcing ribs. The housing is secured by rods which depend from the ceiling whereby to space the open rear end a predetermined distance from the ceiling.
