The present invention provides a population of connective tissue derived cells that respond to interferon-gamma (IFN-.gamma.) by expressing indolamine-2,3- dioxygenase (IDO) for use in preventing, treating or ameliorating one or more symptoms associated with disorders in which modulation of a subject's immune system is beneficial, including, but not limited to, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, and immunologically mediated diseases including rejection of transplanted organs and tissues.
L'invention concerne une population de cellules dérivées du tissu conjonctif qui répond à l'interféron gamma (IFN-.gamma.) en exprimant l'indolamine-2,3-dioxygénase (IDO). Cette population de cellules peut être utilisée pour prévenir, traiter, ou améliorer un ou plusieurs symptômes associés à des troubles pour lesquels la modulation du système immunitaire d'un sujet est bénéfique, ces troubles comprenant, d'une manière non exhaustive, des maladies auto-immunes, des troubles inflammatoires, et des maladies à médiation immunologique parmi lesquelles figure le rejet d'organes ou de tissus transplantés.
