A method of cell reselection in a wireless communications system where parameters are transmitted by the network in system information blocks to WTRU's on the network. Parameters are either added or subtracted from an equation representing the signal power and/or quality of a cell. Parameters may be prioritized. The results of the calculations are used to rank the servicing cell and neighboring cells. If a neighboring cell has a higher quality than the servicing cell, then the WTRU reselects the better cell. The network may transmit a blacklist of cells where the WTRU cannot camp as well as a barring timer for each cell where if the timer expires, the cell may again be considered for reselection. Information germane to the reselection decision may be transmitted and used by the network.
L'invention concerne un procédé de resélection de cellules dans un système de communications sans fil où des paramètres sont transmis par le réseau dans des blocs d'informations de système à une unité d'émission/de réception sans fil (WTRU) sur le réseau. Des paramètres sont ajoutés ou soustraits d'une équation représentant la puissance de signal et/ou la qualité d'une cellule. Des paramètres peuvent être hiérarchisés. Les résultats des calculs sont utilisés pour classer la cellule de desserte et les cellules voisines. Si une cellule voisine a une qualité supérieure à la cellule de desserte, alors la WTRU resélectionne la meilleure cellule. Le réseau peut transmettre une liste noire des cellules où la WTRU ne peut pas être en attente de même qu'un temporisateur d'interdiction pour chaque cellule où, si le temporisateur expire, la cellule peut encore être prise en considération pour une resélection. Des informations en rapport avec la décision de resélection peuvent être transmises et utilisées par le réseau.
