A cell line which is derived from MDCK cells (canine kidney-derived cells) and is culturable in the absence of any animal-derived component. The cell line can be established by a method for cell line establishment comprising the steps of acclimatizing MDCK cells to a serum-free culture medium containing a cell growth factor and culturing the cells using a culture medium which comprises RPMI 1640 medium and soybean-derived peptone but contains no animal- derived component, thereby producing a cell line culturable without any animal- derived component.

La lignée cellulaire peut être établie à l~aide d~un procédé destiné à établir une lignée cellulaire qui comprend plusieurs étapes : l~acclimatation des cellules MDCK à un milieu de culture sans sérum contenant un facteur de croissance cellulaire ; la culture des cellules dans un milieu de culture comprenant du RPMI 1640 et des peptones dérivés du soja, mais dépourvu de composants dérivés d~un animal, permettant ainsi de produire une lignée cellulaire qui peut se cultiver sans ajouter de composant dérivé d~un animal.
