The invention provides cell lines which are useful for the rapid detection and production of influenza and parainfluenza viruses. In particular, the invention relates to transgenic mink lung cells which show increased sensitivity to infection by influenza A, influenza B, or parainfluenza 3 viruses, or which are capable of enhanced productivity of infectious virions. The invention is suitable for use in culturing clinical influenza and parainfluenza virus isolates and for the production of influenza and parainfluenza virus for vaccine formulations, as antigen preparations for diagnostic applications, and for screening antiviral drugs.
L'invention concerne des lignées cellulaires servant à la détection et à la production rapides de virus grippaux et parainfluenza. L'invention concerne en particulier des cellules pulmonaires de vison transgénique présentant une sensibilité augmentée aux infections par les virus de type grippe A, grippe B ou parainfluenza 3, ou se révélant capables d'une production augmentée de virions infectieux. Les lignées cellulaires selon l'invention peuvent être employées pour la culture d'isolats de virus grippaux et parainfluenza cliniques, et pour la production de virus grippaux et parainfluenza destinés à des formulations de vaccins, des préparations antigènes, des applications diagnostiques et le criblage de médicaments antiviraux.
