ABSTRACT A remote vehicle starter which is combined with a vehicle's cellular phone, using its transmission capabilities to activate an electrical circuit parallel to the vehicle's standard electrical ignition circuit to start the vehicle. Multiple audio signals restrict random callers from using the remote system and are entered into the remote starter by a remote telephone to enable a start cycle which automatically repeats until the engine starts and which uses vehicle parameters to inhibit engine ignition or to cutoff engine operations. Connected to the vehicle cellular phone, the remote starter limits the number of remote multiple audio signal codes attempting to start the vehicle, and provides an indicator when false remote audio codes have been attempted. A run timer limits the time the vehicle operates by cutting off power to the engine electrical circuit upon expiration of a preset run-time. The keypad of the vehicle's cellular phone is used to program the remote security code and to program the run-time for the vehicle. Other features include a call timer to limit the time random calls could tie up the phone and an audio feedback capability by telephone to indicate the operating status of the vehicle and the operations of the remote starter. - 20 -
