The present invention relates to the generation and use of a cellular array or a cellular array in combination with other genome-registered arrays (an array of arrays) for the determination of gene function and/or perturbation mode of action. Each cellular array consists of a number of microbial strains. Each strain comprises one reporter gene fusion made up of a gene or gene fragment operably linked to a reporter gene. Each gene or gene fragment has been "registered" or mapped to a specific location in the genome of the organism. The genome-registered collection of the invention may be used to determine alterations in gene expression under a variety of conditions. Such collections are amenable to rapid assay and may be used to confirm, correct or augment data generated from DNA micro array technology.
L'invention concerne l'élaboration et l'utilisation d'une matrice cellulaire ou d'une matrice cellulaire combinée avec d'autres matrices à génome enregistré (une matrice de matrices) permettant l'identification d'une fonction génique et/ou le mode d'action de la perturbation. Chaque matrice cellulaire consiste en plusieurs souches microbiennes. Chaque souche microbienne comprend une fusion de gènes rapporteurs contenant un gène ou un fragment de gène lié de manière opérationnelle à un gène rapporteur. Chaque gène ou fragment de gène a été "enregistré" ou localisé sur un emplacement particulier dans le génome de l'organisme. L'ensemble à génome enregistré décrit dans cette invention peut être utilisé afin d'identifier les modifications de l'expression génique dans diverses affections. De tels ensembles permettant d'effectuer des tests rapides et ils peuvent être utilisés pour confirmer, corriger ou augmenter les données produites par la technologie des micro-réseaux d'ADN.
