Abstract of the Disclosure An improved system for growing plants is provided which includes an envelope having a closable seam along at least one edge and having sheets of porous flexible material which carry a number of dry nutrient packs supported within the envelope. Plants may be inserted at intervals along the open seam and the seam partly closed by clamping means around the stems of each of the plants. In one embodiment of the invention a vertical configuration is employed, while in other embodiments, a hori- zontal configuration is employed.
