A cellular radio access network and a location updating in a cordless communications system, in a cellular radio access network (1), which is connected to one or more core networks (2, 3, 4, 5) or services (SP2 to SP5), each of them having a dedicated mobility management. In a cell, identities of all those location areas are broadcast to which said cell belongs. A subscriber terminal (MS) sends to the radio access network only one location updating message irrespective of how many core networks (2, 3, 4, 5) or services (SP2 to SP5) have a simultaneously changing location area at a handover from one cell to another. On the basis of the information contained in the location updating message, the network (1) defines the core networks or services and location areas to which the location updating applies and sends a location updating message informing the new location of the subscriber or the subscriber terminal separately to each defined core network or service.
L'invention porte sur un réseau cellulaire d'accès radio et d'actualisation des positions dans un système de télécommunications sans fil. Ledit réseau cellulaire (1) est relié à un ou plusieurs réseaux centraux (1, 2, 3, 4) ou services (SP2 à SP5) comportant chacun une gestion de mobilité spécialisée. Dans une cellule, les identités de toutes ces zones de localisation sont communiquées à la cellule à laquelle elles appartiennent. Un poste d'abonné (MS) ne transmet au réseau d'accès radio qu'un message d'actualisation de position quel que soit le nombre de réseaux centraux (1, 2, 3, 4) ou services (SP2 à SP5) présentent simultanément une zone de changement de position lors d'un transfert d'une cellule à une autre. En fonction des informations contenues dans le message d'actualisation de position, le réseau (1) définit les réseaux centraux ou services, et les zones de localisation auxquels s'applique l'actualisation des positions, et transmet un message d'actualisation de position donnant la nouvelle position de l'abonné ou du poste d'abonné séparément à chacun des réseaux centraux ou services définis.
