2047167 9009198 PCTABS00001 The incorporation of cross linked polymeric particles derived from a vinyl or vinylidene group containing monomer especially an ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid into the liquid phase of a two phase self polymerisable resin cement has been found to be advantageous. It reduced the exotherm produced on mixing the solid and liquid phase components and the degree of shrinkage upon setting. The novel cements find application as dental cements and more especially as bone cements.
