- 1 - Abstract: The invention relates to a cement dispersant particularly useful as a water reducing and slump loss reducing agent for cement compositions, eg. cement paste, cement mortor and concrete. The dispersant comprises a lignosulfonic graft copolymer of lignosulfonic acid or its salt and at least one acrylic or vinylic monomer. The monomer has functional groups and the graft copolymer has a molecular weight distribution of 5 x 102 to 5 x 106. When added to cement compositions the copolymer imparts a high flowability without retarding curing of the composition.
