Disclosed is a cement setting accelerator which is composed of calcium hydroxide particles having an average particle diameter of not more than 3 µm. Also disclosed is a cement composition which contains 0.05-10 parts by weight of such a cement setting accelerator per 100 parts by weight of cement. A wet milled product of a calcium hydroxide or a fine precipitate obtained through reaction between a calcium salt and an alkali hydroxide can be used as the calcium hydroxide particles. This cement setting accelerator exhibits high setting acceleration effect and has no adverse affect on the quality of the set cement, in particular durability of the set cement.
L'invention concerne un accélérateur de prise du ciment composé de particules d'hydroxide de calcium présentant un diamètre moyen des particules d'au plus 3 µm. L'invention concerne également une composition de ciment contenant 0,05 à 10 parties en poids de l'accélérateur de prise du ciment pour 100 parties en poids de ciment. Un produit broyé par voie humide d'un hydroxide de calcium ou d'un précipité fin, obtenu par réaction entre un sel de calcium et un hydroxyde alcalin, peut être utilisé comme lesdites particules d'hydroxide de calcium. L'accélérateur de prise du ciment possède un puissant effet d'accélération de prise, sans incidence indésirable sur la qualité du ciment durci, en particulier sur la durabilité du ciment durci.
