The present invention relates to a fiber-reinforced cement based or cementitious material, and process for making, where the reinforcing fiber is a chemically treated cellulose or non-cellulose fiber. The fiber reinforced cementitious material includes (I) cement, (ii) optionally, sand, aggregate, or sand and aggregate, and (iii) chemically treated fibers having a polyvalent cation content of from about 0.1 weight percent to about 5.0 weight percent based on the dry weight of the treated fibers. The present invention further provides for a fiber reinforced cementitious material having a weak acid content of from about 0.5 weight percent to about 10 weight percent based on the dry weight of the treated fibers.
L'invention concerne un ciment renforcé par fibres basé sur un matériau à base de ciment, ainsi que son procédé de fabrication, la fibre de renforcement consistant en une fibre cellulosique ou non cellulosique ayant été soumise à un traitement chimique. Ce matériau à base de ciment renforcé par fibres contient (i) du ciment, (ii) éventuellement du sable, un agrégat ou du sable associé à un agrégat et (iii) des fibres soumises à un traitement chimique possédant une teneur cationique polyvalente entre 0,1 et 5 % en poids sur la base du poids à sec des fibres traitées. Elle concerne, de plus, un matériau à base de ciment renforcé par fibres possédant une teneur en acide faible entre 0,5 et 10 % en poids sur la base du poids à sec des fibres traitées.
