A censoring device (50) to censor closed captioning forming part of a video signal comprises a decoder (300) receiving an incoming video signal including closed captioning. The decoder (300) separates the closed captioning from the video signal. A closed caption censor (400) receives the separated closed captioning from the decoder and censors the same to form censored closed captioning. A generator (500) receives the video signal and the censored closed captioning and combines the censored closed captioning and the video signal.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de censure (50) de sous-titrage codé d'un signal vidéo, qui comprend un décodeur (300) qui reçoit un signal d'entrée vidéo contenant le sous-titrage codé. Le décodeur (300) sépare le signal de sous-titrage codé du signal vidéo. Un censeur (400) de sous-titrage codé reçoit du décodeur le signal de sous-titrage codé et le censure pour former un sous-titrage codé censuré.
