The paystation includes means to read the users credit information which may be encoded on the magnetic stripe of a conventional credit card. The paystation uses a microcomputer to process the credit information and the dialing information entered by the user. The paystation also allows the user to dial a plur- ality of nonrestricted numbers without having to use a credit card. -45-
