A B S T R A C T This invention pertains to a system comprising a method and apparatus for dispensing chilled drinking water. The present invention is directed to a method for stocking and dispensing chilled drinking water using a relatively compact, quiet and aesthetic apparatus generaly installed in the basement and fed via a tanker truck home delivery service. Said apparatus includes a reservoir comprised of two cavities, one of which is refrigerated. Hence, the system is designed for distributing the drinking water at strategic locations in any given home at the discretion of the consumer by means of an electrical pump coupled to a distribution network. The said invention offers a viable alternative to the conventional bottled water concept, to the extent that it nullifies the need for handling the water bottles, thus contributing to the preservation of the Environment by eliminating intermediates as well as the whole bottling process. Said invention provides for the automatic and systematic provisionning of drinking water through a scheduled delivery service. Easy to install, the aforesaid invention can be adapted to new constructions as well as to existing homes, thus adding value thereto. It should be understood that the invention described herein offers many advantages which are further described below and may be modified in order to adapt it to high-rise buildings. In addition, said invention could be used to provide special blends of water containing additives and nutrients to serve the needs of specific clienteles such as hospitals, institutions and the like.
