ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The concentration of proppant, such as for example, sand in a formation fracturing foam has to date been low, approximately two pounds per gallon. The present invention provides apparatus comprising a vessel having a slurry intake at one end, and a concentrated slurry discharge and carrying discharge towards its other end. A rotor rotatably mounted within the vessel and rotated by a motor defines a concentric channel between the vessel and the rotor. The rotor comprises a substantially cylindrical stabilizer at the forward end thereof which serves to impart spin to the incoming slurry; an intake impeller downstream of the stabilizer and, discharge impellers downstream of the intake impeller. An internal flow passageway connects the intake impeller to the discharge impeller. By the improved apparatus, a greater proppant-concentrated slurry is produced.
