A centrifugal filtration apparatus designed to work with commercially available spin--on fluid filters, includes a housing with a hollow rotating shaft positioned within an interior cavity. A filter support on which the fluid filter is positioned, rotates with the shaft. The filter support has impeller blades. Fluids entering the housing through an inlet passage are urged by movement of the impeller blades into the fluid filter, with particulate matter in the fluids being forced outwardly into engagement with filter medium of the fluid filter by centrifugal force. Fluids passing through the filtering medium exit the fluid filter by passing along a fluid flow passage in the shaft to radial outlets that communicate with an outlet passage.
