A centrifugal pellet dryer screen (540) especially adapted for drying polymer pellets and micropellets includes an exterior or outer support screen (542), an inner screen (546) of an irregular or rough surface, and an optional middle screen(s) (544) sandwiched between the outer support screen and the inner screen. The screen layers are in intimate contact and the multi-layer screen assembly produces drier pellets and micropellets exiting the dryer. Plugging of the dryer screens and banding of the pellets or micropellets are significantly reduced.

L'invention concerne un filtre dessiccateur centrifuge de granules (540) spécialement conçu pour le séchage de granules et de microgranules de polymères. Ledit dessiccateur comprend un filtre de support extérieur ou externe (542), un filtre interne (546) présentant une surface irrégulière ou brute, ainsi qu'un/des filtre(s) intermédiaire(s) éventuel(s) (544) pris en sandwich entre le filtre de support externe et le filtre interne. Les couches de filtres sont en contact étroit et l'ensemble de filtres multicouche produit des granules et microgranules sortant du dessiccateur. Le colmatage des filtres dessiccateurs et la formation de bandes des granules ou microgranules sont significativement réduits.
