ABSTRACT A centrifugal planetary friction transmission comprises a plurality of flat friction pulleys. The external-friction pulley moves like a planet and has a friction contact with relevant internal friction pulley under the action of centrifugal force. The transmission operates evenly, has protective property against overload and can absorb shock. The prime mover can start up smoothly with heavy load. In the range of high-speed drive the transmission power and output torque may be increased by 10-fold even move as compared with gear drive. The transmission has higher driving efficiency and may form quasi-stepless speed variator as well as self-adaptive speed variator. 27
