ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A centrifugal pressure filter has horizontal filter discs carried by a hollow shaft for the discharge of filtrate. The shaft is made in two sections, a long section carrying the filter discs and a short section that is mounted to the bottom of the filter casing and carries the requisite dynamic seal for sealing the suspension chamber of the filter. The long shaft section can be lifted out of engagement with the short section so that the filter disc package can be removed for servicing without disturbing the dynamic seal.
