CENTRIFUGAL PUMP HAVING SEMI-AXIAL DIFFUSION AND DUAL DISCHARGE FOR HYDROMASSAGE BATHTUB UNITS Abstract A centrifugal pump for use in hydromassage bathtub units is provided that is compact, self- draining and self-venting, and which complies with all applicable governmental health and safety regulations. The pump includes a centered inlet port and a pair of opposed upper and lower discharge ports. The pump impeller and diffuser plate assembly provide for semi-axial diffusion of fluid within the pump, thereby reducing the overall size of the pump. The pump is self-drained through the lower discharge port when not in operation, and air trapped within the pump is vented through the upper discharge port.
