A B S T R A C T A method at a screening apparatus for cleaning the apertures in a screen plate, characterized in that the surface of the screen plate is swept over by pump means utilizing the centrifugal force, whereby a local pressure drop is established over the screen plate in the area of the respective pump means with the lower pressure on the inject side and so, that the pump means move material removed from the screen apertures to positions at a substantial distance from the screen plate.
