ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The rotor of a centrifugal separator has at its periphery a plurality of valves for discharging medium from the interior of the rotor, which interior communicates with the valves through channels. Each valve is opened by a slot through a sleeve-formed section of a first part being un- covered by an edge of a second part of the valve. When the valve is closed, it is kept tight by said edge being pressed against an abutment surface of a seat.
