A centrifugation device comprising a combined sample chamber and slide holder adapted to be mounted, with a microscope slide (26), in a centrifuge in a predetermined position, after placing a fluid biological sample containing cells in the sample chamber. The device comprises an integrally moulded body (10) affording a base (14) which engages the microscope slide, and also affording a back plate (14) connected with the base plate by an integral hinge (22) a latch mechanism formed integrally with the remainder of the device is arranged, when the back plate (14) is closed against the rear of a microscope slide (26) engaged with the base (14), to locate the slide between the base and the back plate and to hold the back plate in this closed position until fracture of a retaining element from the integrally moulded body. Thus, the device can be used once only. The base includes an aperture communicating with the sample chamber and carries an elastomeric gasket (26) for sealing the edges of the aperture with respect to the surface of the microscope slide. The material of the gasket (20) includes an oil component which, in use, forms an oil film on the microscope slide where the gasket contacts the slide, which can act as a barrier to aqueous fluid and prevents migration of such fluid past the region of the slide contacted by the gasket.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de centrifugation comprenant une chambre à échantillon et un porte-lame combinés conçus pour être montés, conjointement avec une lame (26) pour microscope, dans une centrifugeuse, dans une position prédéterminée, après qu'un échantillon biologique fluide contenant des cellules a été placé dans ladite chambre. Ce dispositif comprend un corps moulé d'un bloc (10) doté d'une base (14) dans laquelle s'insère la lame pour microscope, ainsi qu'une plaque arrière (12) reliée à la plaque de base par une charnière monobloc (22), un mécanisme de verrouillage faisant partie intégrante du reste du dispositif, lorsque la plaque arrière (14) est fermée contre l'arrière d'une lame (26) pour microscope engagée dans la base (14), de sorte que la lame se trouve entre la base et la plaque arrière et que cette dernière soit maintenue en position fermée jusqu'à la fracture d'un élément de retenue du corps moulé monobloc. Ainsi, le dispositif ne peut être utilisé qu'une fois. La base comprend une ouverture communiquant avec la chambre à échantillon et est dotée d'un joint élastomère (20) destiné à sceller de manière étanche les bords de l'ouverture par rapport à la surface de la lame pour microscope. La garniture (20) se compose d'un composant huileux qui, lorsqu'il est utilisé, forme une pellicule d'huile sur la lame pour microscope au niveau où la garniture est en contact avec la lame, fait office de barrière au fluide aqueux et empêche sa migration au-delà de la zone de lame avec laquelle la garniture est en contact.
