ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention concerns a centrifuge intended for use in manipulating liquid batches on analytical scale. The centrifuge consists of a body rotatable about its axis and provided with input and output conduits and presenting the essential feature that therein are contained two parallel, circular arc-shaped chambers located at different distances from the axis of the body constituting a centre of curvature, and communicating with each other through a narrow gap so that when the body is rotating heavier component of the liquid accumulates in the chamber far- ther away from the axis and lighter component in the chamber closer to the acis, whereafter one of these two chambers can be emptied through a conduit, while the surface tension acting in the gap between the chambers keeps the liquid in the other cham- ber in its place. The centrifuge of the invention is particu- larly appropriate for separating blood plasma from the red and white cells in the blood.
