Provided are cephem derivatives represented by general formula (I) wherein Q is an optionally substituted pyridinium group connected to the sulfur atom via a ring carbon atom; X is halogen; Y is hydrogen or halogen; L1 is a furan group, a thiophene group, a C2-C10 alkyl group, or a C2-C10 alkyl group interrupted by one or more groups independently selected from vinyl, S, SO, SO2, SO2NH, (IIa), (IIb); n is 0 or 1; A is CO2H, PO3H2, SO3H or tetrazole; and R1 is hydrogen or a carboxyl-protecting group; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and/or prodrugs thereof. The derivatives are gram-positive antibacterial agents especially useful in the treatment of diseases caused by methicilin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
Cette invention se rapporte à des dérivés de céphem représentés par la formule générale (I) dans laquelle Q est un groupe pyridinium éventuellement substitué, relié à l'atome de soufre par l'intermédiaire d'un atome de carbone cyclique; X est halogène; Y est hydrogène ou halogène; L?1¿ est un groupe furane, un groupe thiophène, un groupe alkyle C¿2?-C¿10? ou un groupe alkyle C¿2?-C¿10? interrompu par un ou plusieurs groupes sélectionnés indépendamment parmi le vinyle, S, SO, SO¿2?, SO¿2?NH, le composé représenté par la formule (IIa) ou le composé représenté par la formule (IIb); n est égal à 0 ou 1; A est CO¿2?H, PO¿3?H¿2?, SO¿3?H ou tétrazole; et R?1¿ est hydrogène ou un groupe de protection carboxyle. L'invention se rapporte également à des sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables et/ou à des bioprécurseurs de ces dérivés. Ces derniers constituent des agents anti-bactériens Gram positifs particulièrement utiles s'agissant de traiter des maladies provoquées par le <u>Staphylococcus aureus</u> résistant à la méthicilline (MRSA).
