ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A compound having the formula: Image (I) wherein R is a vinyl, phenyl or aralkyl group which may be substituted by at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyl group, an alkoxy group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an acetoxy group, a carboxyl group, a halogen atom and a phenyl group which may be substituted by one or two substituents selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, an acetoxy group, a carboxyl group and a halogen atom; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, physiologically hydrolyzable ester or solvate thereof. The compounds are useful as anti- bacterial agents.
