The anode of the invention is particularly suitable for oxygen evolution from acid solutions containing fluorides or fluorocomplex anions, used for deposition of metals. The anode is of the ceramic type, consisting of tin dioxide comprising additives to promote sinterization and increase the electrical conductivity. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the ceramic anode comprises an electrocatalytic layer for oxygen evolution comprising oxides of manganese, cerium and praseodimium, suitably doped. In a particularly preferred embodiment of the present invention said anode comprises a further external layer of zirconyl phosphate .
