ABSTRACT The use of MoSi2 as a ceramic cement is described. The cement is used to join separate components of ceramic materials to form a composite article. The components are positioned so that the surfaces to be joined are contiguous. Molten MoSi2 is added under inert conditions to fill the space between the components. Upon solidifying, a composite ceramic article is obtained.
