The invention relates to an additive to the active mass of a zinc anode for an alkaline secondary electrochemical generator. Said additive contains conductive ceramic powder, preferably titanium nitride particles which is exposed to an oxidation pre-treatment prior to the incorporation thereof into the active mass of the anode. Said ceramic powder is used as electronic conduction in the anode active mass and as zincates retention which are produced by generator discharge. In order to use said retentive capacity, the powder is exposed to an oxidation pre-treatment, whereby making it possible to form the binding sites on the surface of ceramic grains. The inventive additive makes it possible, starting from the first cycles of the electrode formation, to form uniform zinc deposits, thereby increasing the service life for the cycling of the zinc anode.

L'invention concerne un additif de masse active d'anode de zinc pour générateur électrochimique secondaire alcalin, caractérisé en ce qu'il est constitué d'une poudre de céramique conductrice, de préférence de particules de nitrure de titane, ayant subi un prétraitement oxydant avant son incorporation dans la masse active de ladite électrode. Cette poudre céramique est destinée à assurer un double rôle de conduction électronique au sein de la masse active anodique et de rétention des zincates formés en décharge du générateur. Pour disposer de cette capacité de rétention, cette poudre subit un prétraitement oxydant en présence d'oxygène, qui permet la formation en surface des grains de céramique de sites fixateurs des zincates. L'additif selon l'invention permet, dès les premiers cycles de formation de l'électrode, de réaliser des dépôts uniformes de zinc, et de ce fait d'accroître la durée de vie en cyclage de l'anode de zinc.
