A high Q RF cavity resonator loaded with a ceramic disc, the resonator comprising an inner conductive post having a length less than a quarter wavelength. The resonance frequency of the resonator is tunable by changing a distance between a) an outer plate and b) a ceramic disc and an end cap where the ceramic disc is located between the outer plate and the end cap. The resonance frequency can be tuned when the outer plate, ceramic disc, and end cap are in contact with each other by varying a pressure between the contact surfaces of the ceramic disc, the end cap and the outer plate. Temperature compensation allows the resonator to hold a resonance frequency despite changes in temperature, and can be achieved by selecting thermal coefficients of expansion of components holding or placing the ceramic disc and end cap relative to the outer plate.

L'invention porte sur un résonateur RF à cavité à Q élevé chargé par un disque céramique et comportant un barreau intérieur conducteur long de moins d'un quart de longueur d'onde. La fréquence de résonance du résonateur peut être changée en faisant varier la distance entre a) une plaque extérieure, et b) un disque céramique et un couvercle en cloche, le disque céramique étant placé entre la plaque extérieure et le couvercle en cloche. La fréquence de résonance peut s'accorder alors que la plaque extérieure, le disque céramique et le couvercle en cloche sont en contact, et qu'on fait varier la pression sur les surfaces de contact les séparant. La compensation de température permet de stabiliser la fréquence de résonance indépendamment des variations de température, en sélectionnant les coefficients de dilatation des supports et des éléments de mise en place du disque céramique et du couvercle par rapport à la plaque extérieure.
