CHAIN CONVEYOR DRIVER CONSTRUCTION ABSTRACT A scraper bar for a chain conveyor which is adapted to run in a conveyor trough which has side guide walls comprises a scraper arm having outer ends which terminate in a tongue which tapers invwardly in lateral and longitudinal directions toward its outer end. A guide shoe has an inner side face with a recess into which the tongue extends and the guide shoe is pivotally supported on the tongue by a pin or sleeve. The guide shoe in- cludes an inwardly extending nose portion which rides between side edges of a U-shaped recess of the arm. Surfaces of the nose portion and the U-shaped recess defining recesses and stops for limiting the pivotal movement of the shoe. Both the shoe and the tongue have aligning bores which are oval so that the clearance may vary between outer circularly cylindrical portions of the tongue and the guide shoe during pivotal movement of the shoe. The shoe has an outer lateral edge which engages in the side guide walls and the angular position of this edge with respect to the guide walls may vary.
