A chain extended traction aid device for use with a motorized vehicle includes a conventional rigid traction aid member having a first end for engagement with a traction wheel of the vehicle and a second end opposite to said first end. The second end is extended with a flexible extension member such as a chain member releasably secured thereto via hooks. The chain member is engaged by the wheel after the rigid member is released by the same to retain the rigid member from flying away.
