ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A chain saw including an electromagnetic pump (4) for feeding lubricant to saw chain operative in response to an engine speed sensor (5) for sensing the rpm of an internal combustion engine and a microcomputer (6) for controlling the operation of the electromagnetic pump (4). The microcomputer (6) stores a plurality of lubricant feeding patterns covering the number of actuations of the electromagnetic pump (4), the actu- ation frequency and the period of time of each actuation so as to control automatically the feeding of lubricant to the saw chain from the electromagnetic pump (4) in response to the engine speed sensor (5) to effect lubri- cant feeding in conformity with the sawing condition.
