ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A chain saw safety-brake system including a pivotable member, and a screw located in side-by-side relation to the pivotable member and having a brake band connected thereto at one end. The screw can be operated from outside of the chain saw to adjust the length of the brake band. The pivotable member and the screw are assembled with a lock lever for locking a clutch drum and contained in a casing to provide a packaged unit.
