A system for controlling a dump truck's tailgate opening may be used when dumping materials out in piles or spreading. The system has a mechanically controlled device that can be mounted to a conventional dump box. A connecting arm is attached to a tailgate which interconnects with a control unit mounted on the dump box. The control unit is configured to catch the tailgate as it falls from a closed position due to the force of gravity. The system allows an operator to select, from within the truck's cab, one or more opening positions for the tailgate.

L'invention concerne un système destiné à contrôler l'ouverture d'un hayon de camion-benne pouvant être utilisé lors du déchargement de matériau en piles ou d'épandage. Le système possède un dispositif commandé mécaniquement pouvant être monté sur une boîte à déchets classique. Une arme de connexion est fixée au hayon qui est interconnecté à une unité de commande montée sur la boîte à déchets. L'unité de commande est conçue de manière à attraper le hayon lorsqu'il tombe d'une position fermée due à une force de gravité. Le système permet à un opérateur de sélectionner, depuis l'intérieur de la cabine du camion, une ou plusieurs positions d'ouverture pour le hayon.
