A chair (1) including a fixed seat (2) and a backrest (3) with its lower portion hingedly connected to the rear of the seat (2), said backrest (3) being pivotable about at least one pivot pin (4) between a raised operative position and a position in which it is lowered onto the seat (2). An abutment portion is provided for locking said backrest (3) in the raised position. Said backrest (3, 8 or 29) is longer and wider than the seat (2) so that the inner surface (5) of said backrest (3, 8 or 29) completely encloses said seat (2) when said backrest (3, 8 or 29) is lowered thereon, and said backrest (3, 8 or 29) extends beyond the edges of the seat (2) on all sides so that the seat (2) and the inner surface (5) are coveringly protected when the backrest (3, 8 or 29) is in the lowered position. Said chair is particularly suitable for use outdoors.
L'invention a pour objet un siège dont le dossier est articulé. Siège du type comprenant une assise fixe et un dossier articulé à sa base relativement à l'arrière de l'assise, le dossier pouvant pivoter selon au moins un axe d'articulation entre une position relevée d'utilisation et une position rabattue sur l'assise, un moyen faisant office de butée assure le blocage dudit dossier en position relevée. Ledit dossier a des dimensions (longueur et largeur) qui sont plus importantes que celles de l'assise de manière à ce que la face intérieure dudit dossier recouvre en son sein la totalité de l'assise lorsque ledit dossier est rabattu sur ladite assise; la forme dudit dossier déborde de tous les côtés de l'assise, de sorte que la protection en couverture de l'assise et de la face intérieure est assurée complètement dans la position rabattue du dossier. L'ivention s'applique notamment aux sièges ou fauteuils d'extérieur.
