-12- Abstract of the Disclosure A chair with an adjustment feature includes a seat for supporting a user. The seat is coupled by engaging links to a plurality of support arms for relative horizontal and vertical movement with respect to the arms. A back rest provides reclining support for the user and the back rest and the seat are connected by an element which preferably permits relative movement between the back rest and the seat. A support maintains the seat and the back rest above a surface such as a floor. The support has a generally vertical column and a pair of support arms extending generally upwardly angularly from the column toward a front edge of the seat. A pivot lever is disposed at either side of the seat, each of the pivot levers having a first end pivotably pinned to a support arm by a coupling pin, a second end rigidly attached to the back rest and a hinge pin disposed intermediate the ends and coupling the pivot lever to the seat. Several embodiments are disclosed.
