ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for maneuvering a speed-changer by operating a lever, has juxtaposedly provided therein at least two shifter forks and a mechanism for inhibiting simultaneous actuation of any plurality of the shifter forks. The lever can selectively engage with any shifter fork. Recesses are formed, opposed to each other, in the respective adjoining pair of the shifter forks, and a common-recess portion is provided in a region bridging over the adjoining recess bottoms. A spring is provided for urging a tip engagement portion of the lever when all the shifter forks are in their speed-change neutral positions, to be received in the or any one common-recess portion. When the tip engagement portion is thus received in the common-recess portion, unintentional actuation of the lever and therefore any accidential actuation of the shifter forks, is reliably inhibited even if the lever is inadvertently touched in such state.
